Mohanji Foundation (“we”, “us” or “our”) operates Making Masters — Weekly Talks with Mohanji at makingmasters.mohanji.org (the “Service”), a weekly live satsang offered by subscription. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use the Service, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. It sits alongside, and is consistent with, the wider Mohanji Foundation privacy practices. By using the Service and providing your information, you accept this policy, as amended from time to time.
Information we collect
You give us information when you create an account, subscribe, ask a question, or contact us. This may include:
- Account & contact details — your name, email address, mobile number (including a WhatsApp number if you choose to receive reminders that way), and the password you set for your account.
- Subscription & payment details — the plan you choose and a record of your payments. Card and bank details are entered directly with our payment providers (see “Payments” below); we do not store your card details.
- Questions you submit — any question you send ahead of a session so it can be put to Mohanji.
- Anything you send us — the content of emails or messages, and testimonials you choose to give.
We also collect some information automatically when you visit (“Usage Data”): your IP address, browser type and version, device information, the pages you view and when, and an approximate location (country) derived from your IP address. We use the country only to show prices in the appropriate currency; we do not use it to identify you.
The choice of how much you provide is yours — but to subscribe and take part we need at least your name, email and payment details.
How we use your information
- To provide the Service — set up your account, take payment, and send you the day, time, theme and joining link for each session.
- To answer questions you submit and respond to your enquiries.
- To send you the Mohanji Foundation newsletter and related updates, where you have opted in (you can opt out at any time).
- To keep the Service secure, prevent misuse, and understand and improve how it is used.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
Live sessions and recordings
Sessions are live on Zoom and are recorded. Recordings are made available to subscribers on Mohanji TV. If you join with your camera or microphone on, your image, voice and any question you ask may be captured in the recording and seen by others who watch it. If you would prefer not to appear, keep your camera and microphone off and submit your question in writing. Testimonials (written, audio or video) are only published with your consent, and once published may be indexed by search engines.
Payments
Payments are handled by our payment providers — Stripe for payments in euro (€) and Razorpay for payments in Indian rupees (₹). When you pay, your card or bank details are provided directly to the relevant provider and processed under their own terms and privacy policies. We receive confirmation of payment and a limited record of the transaction, but not your full card details.
How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the Service, with providers acting on our instructions under appropriate confidentiality obligations, including:
- payment providers (Stripe, Razorpay);
- our email/communications platform, to send the weekly session emails and newsletter;
- the video platforms used to deliver and host sessions (Zoom and Mohanji TV);
- our website hosting and security provider (Cloudflare);
- authorised volunteers, vendors or suppliers, limited to what their task requires.
We may also disclose information where required or permitted by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety or property of any person.
International transfers
We operate globally, and your information — including personal data — may be transferred to and stored on servers located outside your country, where data-protection laws may differ from your own. Where we transfer data, we take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected in line with this policy.
Cookies and local storage
We keep our use of cookies to a minimum. We (and the platforms we use) may use cookies and similar technologies, and your browser’s local storage, to:
- keep you signed in and remember your session;
- remember preferences such as the currency shown to you;
- understand, in aggregate, how the Service is used so we can improve it.
Some third-party services you interact with (for example an embedded video, or the payment providers) may set their own cookies. You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings, but some features of the Service may not work properly without them.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as you have an account or subscription, and afterwards only for as long as needed to meet legal, tax and accounting requirements or to resolve disputes. When it is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including storing it in secure, access-controlled environments. No transmission over the internet is ever completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights and choices
You may ask us to access, correct, update or delete your personal information, to stop or limit certain uses, to withdraw a consent you have given, or to receive a copy of the information you provided. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any such email, or by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
To exercise any of these, email events@mohanji.org. We will respond as soon as we can, and in any event within 30 days. There may occasionally be legal reasons we cannot fully comply, in which case we will explain why.
Children
The Service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us information without consent, please contact us and we will remove it.
Links to other sites
The Service links to other websites and services (such as mohanji.org, Mohanji TV and social media). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites, and we encourage you to read their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, particularly as rules and practices change. Any changes will be posted on this page, and where changes are material we will let you know by email.
